Congressmen arrested for protesting Darfur genocide

Filed under: News, Opinion - Jason @ 4:54 pm

Bully for them!

Five Democratic members of Congress were arrested at the Sudanese Embassy and led away in plastic handcuffs Friday to protest the atrocities in the Darfur region.

And the five were:

Tom Lantos, California

Jim Moran, Virginia

Sheila Jackson Lee, Texas

Jim McGovern and John Olver, Massachusetts

As I said before, bully for them!  We seriously need to do something about the horrible genocide in Darfur.  Over 300,000 have died so far.  Are we going to wait until its 500,000?  A million?  Two million?

These five deserve to be awarded for their initiative.  It would certainly be nice if tomorrow, the entire Congress were to protest out infront of the Sudan embassy.
