Or not

Disregard the bottom post about me moving TAUR, I decided not to.  Wordpress, for the lack of a better word, sucked.  Badly.  Its servers were ridiculously slow, sometimes taking 15 seconds or longer just to load a page.  You have to practically move the moon just to get Technorati on it.  This is due solely on the fact that they won’t allow users to edit the templates and the needed Technorati coding to it.  For a hosting service that claims to be easy to use, they were full of it.

Maybe when they fix these above problems, I’ll give them a second shot.  Until then, phooey.

Moving

Yup, I’m moving The Age of (un)Reason again.  Why?  Well, while I like Blogsome, it’s just missing some things that I’d like to have, like the ability to add Technorati tags.  Blogsome is a fine service, and I think them for…well, existing, but I feel I must move on, for the good of the blog.  Anyways, I’m moving to wordpress.com.  Please be patient while I set it up and whatnot.

Thanks.

Holy steaming pile of hypocrisy, Batman!

God Loves, Aslan Kills

Yahoo/Reuters.

A man shouting that God would keep him safe was mauled to death by a lioness in Kiev zoo after he crept into the animal’s enclosure, a zoo official said on Monday.

"The man shouted ‘God will save me, if he exists’, lowered himself by a rope into the enclosure, took his shoes off and went up to the lions," the official said.

"A lioness went straight for him, knocked him down and severed his carotid artery."

Apparently lions don’t like God?

Bush and Republicans getting desperate…

Filed under: Politics, Opinion - Jason @ 3:17 pm

And stupider.  Incase you haven’t been watching the news lately, Dubya has decided to try and ban gay marriage, again.  Yup, with his popularity in the upper 20s, herr dipshit is bring back the Federal Marriage Amendment.  Meanwhile, Bill "Can’t tell a corpse when he sees one" Frist is proposing an amendment banning flag burning.  Both are acts of desperation, borne out of low approval ratings and the need to bolster them.

They will both fail.  Amending the Constitution is extremely hard.  It requires a 2/3 supermajority of Congress (both chambers) and ratification of 2/3 of the states (38 states).  This is irrelevent, as the Republicans would need Democrats to help vote for either one, which will never happen.  Plus, mid-term elections are only a few months away, and the Democrats might gain control of the House, meaning that neither amendment will be passed.

Honestly, this just shows how out of touch the Republican leadership is.  Instead of focusing its attention important issues, such as gas prices and immigration, they’re spending their time chasing irrelevent social topics.

They fail to see the hypocrisy of their actions.  We’re supposed to be the land of the free, the equal, yet they want pass laws discriminating against a segment of our society.  They want to pass a law forbidding someone from practicing their first amendment right to express themselves.  If a person wishes to burn the flag, to make a statement, to express their feelings, then so be it.

Bush, Frist, just give it up.
